Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders shook off the preseason cobwebs in last week's thrilling 31-26 win against the North Dakota State Bison. The Buffs quarterback was in stellar form as he threw for 445 yards for four touchdowns in the season opener.
Ahead of Colorado's Week 2 trip to Lincoln to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Sanders continued his NIL dominance by appearing in the latest Gatorade commercial.
Sanders reposted the clip that features Baltimore Raven Lamar Jackson and Buffalo Bill Josh Allen, on his Instagram stories. The reel was captioned:
"Never write off the G Fam. You know we got IT ⚡️."
Shedeur Sanders continues NIL dominance
Shedeur Sanders has dominated the NIL charts since late last year and has not let go of the No. 1 ranking in the On3 100 list with a massive NIL valuation of $4.7 million.
Sanders signed a lucrative deal last week with athletic apparel giant Nike, following in the footsteps of his father, Colorado coach Deion Sanders. The elder Sanders has a long-running association with the company and he became Colorado's head coach, Nike relaunched a line of his famous cleats from his playing days.
Nike announced the Colorado quarterback's endorsement deal with a series of posters of Shedeur posing in his iconic watch celebration pose with the tag:
"You know what Time it is."
During an episode of his "2Legendary" podcast, Shedeur Sanders revealed that he hoped to build upon his father's legacy with Nike, rather than start his own line.
"I would want to build on it. I want to build on it," Shedeur Sanders said. "Have like a different version. But I think concept, because I feel like now, like just looking at life and looking at everything, it's more about generational. It's more about what could be passed down year after year after year after year, rather than everybody starting to think they're whole new wave and whole new because there's no real substance behind it.
"Everything that's great has to have a story behind it. Every great player has a story about. So, I feel like when it comes to design or anything like that, it has to have a great design behind it."
With his strong performance on the gridiron seemingly carrying over from last season and the NFL draft fast approaching, Shedeur Sanders is in prime position to become the NIL face of college football.
