The Michigan-Ohio State rivalry is alive and well. Both teams have what might be the fiercest rivalry in college football and few know this better former Michigan player and Heisman winner Charles Woodson.

Woodson made an appearance on FOX's “Big Noon Kickoff” in Columbus, anticipating the long-awaited game during which his former team would attempt to extend their win-streak over Ohio State to four. Needless to say, Ohio State fans were not pleased to see him and expressed their displeasure loudly.

The show host announced the guests and as soon as he said:

“From Michigan … Charles Woodson.”

Ohio fans booed loudly. To which Charles Woodson hilariously responded:

“I’ve got backup today baby. Let’s go! Let’s go!”

Despite the Wolverines having a rough season, this matchup will serve as a huge confidence boost if they come out on top. Ohio State will be looking to break Michigan’s win streak, while Michigan will attempt to cement their status as the superior team between both sides.

Charles Woodson weighs in on Michigan stars’ absence in Ohio State game

The rivalry between Michigan and Ohio State continues with both teams facing off this Saturday for another iconic game. Ohio State is hoping to be playing in the Big Ten Championship Game with the aim of making it into the College Football Playoff as the No 1 seed. The Wolverines, on the other hand, are having a rather sour season.

Besides their mangled record, Michigan will be playing the Buckeyes with two key players missing: cornerback Will Johnson and tight end Colston Loveland. Both players have suffered injuries this season.

Johnson has been missing from the field since October 19 as he recovers from a toe injury. Loveland, who has played in 10 games this season, including their last game against Northwestern, is also currently out with an injury.

Woodson gave his thoughts on the matter during “Big Noon Kickoff.” He said:

“I tell you what, they’ve got to really be hurt. You’ve got to really be hurt, because I don’t care who you are as a player in terms of your status as an NFL player and how high you may go next year. This is The Game. So those guys got to really be hurt.”

Michigan is sure to feel the absence of both players as they face Ohio State. Regardless, their absence is for good reason. Both players are projected first-round picks in the 2025 NFL Draft and will be looking to make a full recovery in preparation for what is likely the most exciting year of their careers so far.
