Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe has been a key part of the team over the last few seasons. He is hoping to finally deliver a championship this season.
After two fairly easy games for the Crimson Tide, Milroe and Alabama face what could be seen as their first test of the season in week 3, as they face the Wisconsin Badgers at Camp Randall.
Before the game, Milroe seemed to be having a prayer at the stadium.
Jalen Milroe has passed for 394 yards and five touchdowns through two games this season. Milroe did not participate in all of the last two games, which is why the numbers may appear low for a quarterback of this ability.
The game against Wisconsin will likely be the first game where Milroe is likely to be tested. The Badgers, a Big Ten program, will deploy their linebackers to counter Milroe's running game. This stems from the assumption that limiting Milroe will halt the Alabama offense in general, giving the Badgers a better chance of an upset victory.
Jalen Milroe talks about freshman wide receiver Ryan Williams
Freshman wide receiver Ryan Williams is listed as a starter for the Wisconsin Badgers game on Saturday. Jalen Milroe revealed how he found out that freshman wide receiver Ryan Williams was ready for the assignment.
"One thing I ain’t told him, but I guess he gonna know now that I love what he did was, he went to training room one day and our head trainer is named Jeff Allen," Milroe told "The Pivot" podcast this week.
"He said, ‘hey, can you put me on the plan that DeVonta Smith was on?’ I said, ‘oh he’s serious. He’s serious, serious.’ 17, I ain’t thinking about that.”
The pairing of Milroe and Wiliams has already been a key partnership in the making for Alabama. So far, the pair have connected for 207 yards and three touchdowns.
Throughout the season, this partnership is only expected to grow and could cause a headache for many SEC programs and potentially the Wisconsin Badgers this weekend.
