Dillon Gabriel's latest NIL deal is with The GLD Shop, a jewelry brand that sells mainly online. This deal, which is considered huge for both parties, further boosted the Oregon quarterback's NIL profile ahead of his final season of eligibility.
In partnership with GLD, Gabriel had his teammates iced out with custom-made jewelry from the brand during the team's off-season camp. The jewelry was Oregon-themed, designed with the university block O logo, and another with the Oregon Duck mascot. There was another design in the GLD logo.
In a video jointly posted by Gabriel and GLD on Instagram, Oregon players were seen on a getaway rocking the custom-made diamond jewelry while having fun. The Oregon-themed jewelry is now available for sale on the brand's website.
Dillon Gabriel is currently considered the favorite for the Heisman Trophy
According to the sportsbook odds, with the 2024 college football season fast approaching, Dillon Gabriel is now seen as the frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy. The quarterback overtakes the likes of Georgia’s Carson Beck and Texas’ Quinn Ewers, who initially led the way.
This is happening mainly because of the increased wager on Gabriel in the last couple of days. The former Oklahoma QB's odds tightened after the SuperBook in Las Vegas received a number of bets on him. This elevated him to become the favorite for the award.
“I think there were some maybe influential people that hopped on it and said they liked it on some public spaces," Chase Michaelson, oddsmaker for the SuperBook, told ESPN. "It's people we respect that like Gabriel, and I think there are lots of reasons to like him.”
Here are the current Heisman Trophy odds as per ESPN Bet.
Last season, Dillon Gabriel threw for 3,660 yards and 30 touchdowns against six interceptions for Oklahoma as they rounded up their time in the Big 12. Now, after transferring to Oregon this offseason, he steps into an anticipated high-octane Ducks offense.
Bo Nix, who led Oregon’s offense last season, was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy in 2023. This places Gabriel in a good position for the award in the upcoming season. Should he claim the honor, he will become Oregon’s second winner after Marcus Mariota.
