Arch Manning has taken a trip down memory lane with a training session at his old high school. The Texas Longhorns backup quarterback is likely to spend another full season on the sidelines, but this has not stopped him from practicing for the eventual moment he becomes the starter for the program.

In a video posted on Friday by QB Country, Arch Manning is seen throwing at Isidore Newman High School in New Orleans. Manning attended the school before he went to the Longhorns. This is the same high school that his father (Cooper) and his uncles (Peyton and Eli Manning) both attended. Peyton and Eli Manning also played quarterback at the school.

Arch Manning was at Isidore Newman from 2019 to 2022. He was the starting quarterback for the Greenies for most of this period.

During high school, Arch Manning was one of, if not the, best quarterbacks in the country in his four years playing there. In his freshman year, he threw for 2,509 yards, scoring 34 touchdowns. The strong performances continued every season, and Arch Manning ended his time at Isidore Newman with 8,539 yards and 115 touchdown passes, both school records.

Arch Manning is the holder of every passing and touchdown record for the school, truly showing how dominant he was there. These achievements are made more impressive when one considers that the same school produced a Hall-of-Fame quarterback and another who is eligible this year and is highly likely to make it. The two have won four Super Bowls between them.

Arch Manning's high school coach spoke about his commitment to Texas

Arch Manning's high school numbers made him the No. 1 prospect in his class, and there was an intense race between the top colleges to get the quarterback to sign with them. In the end, Arch Manning chose to commit to the Texas Longhorns.

In response to this news, Manning's high school coach Mark Stewart told USA Today:

"I think this is where he belongs.”

Currently, Arch Manning has been unable to show the college football world if he can be the same player he was in high school. This is because the Texas Longhorns quarterback room is full of experienced talent, mostly in the form of Quinn Ewers.

Last year (Manning's freshman year) Ewers led the Longhorns to a conference championship and a spot in the CFP. His return for one more season in Austin means that fans will have to wait a little longer to see if Arch Manning is where he belongs.
