Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian had a lot to celebrate on Saturday as the Longhorns bagged a big 34-3 win against rivals the Oklahoma Sooners in Week 7 of college football season. To add salt to the wound, Sarkisian ended up living a wish that Sooners coach Brent Venables dreamed of before the game.
Before the much-awaited game, Brent Venables said that if his squad won, he would eat the very popular Fletchers "Corny Dogs" for the first time in his life. However, it was Sarkisian who enjoyed the corn dog as he entered the post-game press conference in style with the snack in his hand.

Steve Sarkisian explained Quin Ewers' slow start in the first half of the game
Texas QB Quinn Ewers struggled early against Oklahoma, but he settled in and led his team to an 18-point lead at halftime. Although Ewers was below average in the game, he finished 20 of 29 for 199 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
The first few drives were shaky as Texas gave good field position with an interception and three punts in the opening. Steve Sarkisian addressed the issue:
“We’re staying out of third and longs,” Sarkisian said, as per On3 Sports. “He missed a couple throws early. I think he’s in a pretty good groove now.”
Texas' running game has been a big reason for the team's consistency. Despite a banged-up running back room, Texas has found success running the ball. When asked about his performance after a slow start, he said, as per Longhorns Wire:
“I think it’s just like the veteran in all of us. When you’re playing a lot of ball, you understand adversity is going to strike. And at the end of the day, it’s how you come back. It’s how you respond. It’s 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react. So I just lean on Jesus and he continues, continues to put me through adverse times.”
The Texas Longhorns will face the Georgia Bulldogs next Saturday, aiming to extend their unbeaten streak this season.
