Texas Longhorns' much-talked-about quarterback Arch Manning is not resting on his laurels during the offseason. The quarterback was among a host of prospects who attended the Manning Passing Academy in Thibodaux, Louisiana during the week.

Manning was asked about for his opinion on who the greatest non-football personality is as they trooped into practice sessions. His answer was among the most popular.

"Michael Jordan," Manning said.

Arch Manning reassures Texas fans

Ever since he committed to the Texas Longhorns, Arch Manning has become one of the most talked about student-athletes in college sports due to his lineage being the famous Manning Family.

As the No. 1-ranked prospect and quarterback in the country, there was an expectation that he would be an immediate starter for whichever program he chose, which turned out not to be the case with Quinn Ewers blocking his path.

During the offseason, speculation mounted among fans that Manning would enter the transfer portal to get more game time come next season.

During an interview with Crescent City Sports, Manning said that the speculation about him entering the transfer portal was unfounded, settling Texas fan's fears over his future.

"I like the situation I'm in," Manning said. "I like Austin, I like the school, I like the coaching staff. I like the people in the building.
"It takes a while as a quarterback to try to make an impact where you are. It takes a while to learn everyone's name, learn the trainer's name, and all the stuff. I didn't want to have to go somewhere else and re-do that, do that again. I like the situation I'm in.
"Sometimes you got to stay patient and stay ready for your turn. I can't wait to stay there four years and win some games."

During an interview with On3, Manning also highlighted his good relationship with Quinn Ewers, detailing his readiness to step in should he be needed to step in for the experienced quarterback.

“He’s been great, learning under him, just the way he goes about his business and attacks his preparation,” Manning said. “I’m thrilled that I’ve been learning from such a good guy. He carries himself in a good manner, and we’re good friends, so it’s been awesome. Obviously, I feel like I’m getting better every day, so just trying to stay ready."

Arch Manning will provide coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns with one of the country's deepest and most talented quarterback rooms next season.
