Colorado Buffaloes cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter is suiting as the newest Heisman in the rich history of college football. Following an impressive season, where he led an underdog program to almost a foot inside the 12-team college football playoff field, Hunter becomes the first winner from Boulder for the prestigious honor since Rashaan Salaam in 1994.

Hunter won the 90th Heisman Trophy after being announced as the consensus winner on Saturday. Following the tradition, Hunter gets his hands on a sharp, tailored gold blazer with a notable emblem on the left chest pocket — representing the Heisman Trophy fraternity.

The blazer signifies his official induction into the elite group of Heisman winners. The gold color symbolizes excellence and distinction. Hunter joins a "brotherhood" of past winners who have left a lasting legacy in the sport.

Travis Hunter's acceptance speech includes special thanks to Coach Prime and Shedeur Sanders

Travis Hunter took an unconventional approach when, despite being a five-star recruit, he decided to learn under the footing of Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, joining an FCS program at Jackson State. There, he met Shedeur Sanders, a bond that would take the Colorado program to new heights.

With so much talent on his hands, Coach Prime took u[ the offer at Colorado, and the rest is what transpired this year. A 9-3 season and 7-2 in Big 12 play, Colorado almost played its first conference title game since the early 2000s.

As Hunter took the podium for his acceptance speech, he gave special thanks to his coach and quarterback.

"I want to thank Coach Prime, Shedeur," Hunter said. "Man, y'all changed my life forever. That one simple phone call, Shedeur, look where I'm at. Man, that's crazy, bro. It's crazy. I'm trying not to get emotional because I know our last game coming up soon. But I'm thankful for both of y'all.
"Coach Prime, I'm going to whip you on that lake tomorrow or whenever we get the chance. But thank you, man. You changed my life forever. I told you that multiple times. I really appreciative of it."

Travis Hunter looks up to Deion Sanders as a fatherly figure and sees his sons Shedeur and Shilo as brothers for life. There's just so much emotion between them all, so fans will hope that it continues despite them leaving for the NFL after the Alamo Bowl game against the BYU Cougars.
