Urban Meyer's time as a college football was very successful. He won three national championships: two with the Florida Gators and an unlikely win in 2014 with the Ohio State Buckeyes.

But once Meyer retired from college coaching after being under fire at Ohio State in December 2018 (before being fired by the Jacksonville Jaguars after a 2-11 start in 2021), he still made moments that people were talking about.

In 2020, there was a lot of uncertainty surrounding the college football season due to the pandemic and the social distancing rules related to it.

Urban Meyer gave his opinion on whether or not the season would happen on a local news station.

Throughout the interview, a shirtless man slowly approached Meyer in his mirror, which was facing the camera for all to see. Meyer could not immediately respond, as he was talking. The moment the reporter asked another question, Meyer performed a range of bizarre facial expressions to remove the shirtless man from the shot.

His attempt was successful, but the clip went viral, showing the whole world his way of removing someone from the screen.

Urban Meyer says who he thinks is the best player in college football

Fast forward to 2024, and Urban Meyer is still talking about college football as an analyst, and many people want to hear what the legendary coach has to say about the ever-changing environment.

When asked by fellow Fox Sports analyst Mark Ingram who he thinks is the best college football player this season, Meyer named the Colorado Buffaloes' Travis Hunter.

"I would draft him with the first pick," Meyer said. "He's a dog. He studies the game. ... I just got so much respect for that cat."

Hunter is having a strong season as both a member of the offense and the defense. He leads the Buffaloes in receiving yards with 757 and has scored eight touchdowns. On defense, he's been involved in 20 tackles, some of which played a massive role in allowing No. 21 Colorado (6-2) to win games.

Hunter could be the No. 1 NFL draft pick in real life in April.

NFL draft buzz has Hunter ranked as the No. 1-ranked player in the 2025 draft class, where he would be in a position to help a struggling franchise.
