Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels dealt a heavy blow to Georgia's national championship hopes in Week 11. On Saturday, they managed to secure a 28-10 victory over Kirby Smart's team, giving Kiffin a great SEC victory in his career as the Rebels head coach.

Ole Miss fans in Oxford were ecstatic after this thrilling victory over one of the SEC's top teams. However, their happiness knew no bounds as fans stormed the field 16 seconds before the final whistle in the fourth quarter.

After the situation was handled and the last few seconds played out, fans rushed to the field once again and had their way with the goalpost at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

After tearing it down, they then carried it around the streets of Oxford.

According to a tweet by Bussin' With the Boys, the Ole Miss Rebels fans abandoned the goalpost near a building.

"Ole Miss just... abandoned the goal posts"

Last season, the Rebels succumbed to a blowout 52-17 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs. And after a year, Lane Kiffin finally got his redemption as his team's defense put up a brilliant display on the field to minimize offensive chances for Kirby Smart's team.

QB Carson Beck once again had an underwhelming performance for the Bulldogs. He completed 20-of-the-31 passes he attempted while tallying a total of 186 passing yards and one interception. The Rebels found themselves on the scoreboard for the night thanks to a touchdown by Nate Frazier and a 23-yard field goal by Peyton Woodring.

Lane Kiffin states Ole Miss has been preparing for this game since last season's embarrassment

After the 28-10 victory over the Bulldogs, Kiffin met up with ESPN reporter Molly McGrath. While speaking with her, he opened up about how they have been preparing since last season's 52-17 loss.

Kiffin went on to reveal that they spent the whole offseason planning on how to take down Georgia and how this objective also affected their method of recruiting.

"A year ago, we lost to these guys by like 30," Kiffin said. We made a decision, we've got to recruit differently. We've got to go shopping. We planned for this game for a year, game-planned all offseason."

After this Week 11 triumph, the Rebels improved to 8-2 with two games remaining in the regular season. These games are against Florida and Mississippi State. If they can go on to emerge victorious in these last two games, then the Rebels may have a chance of competing in this year's 12-team playoff.
