Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin praised Coach Prime after his bold decision to play quarterback Shedeur Sanders and two-way star Travis Hunter in Colorado's upcoming bowl game.

During the Valero Alamo Bowl press conference on Monday, Deion Sanders, also known as Coach Prime, expressed his unwavering belief in his players.

“We Love these young men for real,” Sanders said. “We show up on and off the field.”

Deion Sanders continues to set a new standard for player development and protection in college football. The insurance coverage is reportedly the largest in college football history. Colorado did not disclose the specific amount of coverage for Shedeur and Sanders, citing privacy laws.

In the meantime, former Miami Hurricanes WR Irvin also chimed in, commenting on Sanders’ Instagram post:

Coach Prime has confirmed that Shedeur and Heisman Trophy winner Travis will suit up for the Alamo Bowl, marking their final game as Colorado Buffaloes. Both players are projected as top picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.

In preparation for the Bowl Game in San Antonio, Sanders publicly recognized Hunter during a team practice.

Prime Time said to Hunter in a video posted on Instagram:

"I want you to know this in front of everybody," Sanders said. "You know we love you, We got you. We appreciate you. You are him."

Coach Prime’s University of Colorado has secured record-breaking disability insurance policies for Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter

No. 23 Colorado (9-3) takes on No. 17 BYU (10-2) at the Alamodome on Saturday in the highly anticipated Alamo Bowl clash. A Colorado athletic department spokesperson confirmed to Front Office Sports that several Buffaloes players are insured for the game but declined to disclose specific costs or benefits.

Top-tier players like Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter often skip non-playoff bowl games to avoid injury risks and protect their future earnings as potential high draft picks. The No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft is projected to sign a four-year contract worth approximately $40 million.

Deion Sanders revealed on Monday that the university has secured record-breaking disability insurance policies for Sanders and Hunter, both of whom are projected top-five picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Sanders said at a press conference in San Antonio:

"We happen to have two players that are probably gonna be the first two picks of the NFL Draft," Sanders said [H/t Reuters]. "And they have received, I think, the highest number of coverage that has ever been covered in college football... It far exceeds anyone (who) has ever played this game of college football."

With Sanders at the helm, Colorado is on the brink of a milestone season. A win on Saturday would give the Buffaloes their first 10-win campaign since 2016, cementing their remarkable turnaround under Coach Prime.
