Deion Sanders Jr. isn't happy watching the Colorado Buffaloes go down like they did on Friday. Stanford came to Folsom Field as a struggling outfit but reserved its best performance in the season for Week 7.
Colorado coach Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders' boys blew up a 29-point halftime lead to end up with a frustrating 46-43 loss. The coach's eldest son thinks that the Buffaloes deserved the loss to the Cardinal, and it gave them a life lesson.
No one saw that coming at halftime of the Friday night game. It may be because of this that Sanders lashed out at his father's team the way he did.
Deion Sanders Jr. makes his frustration at Buffs' Week 7 loss clear
Deion Sanders lashed out at the Colorado Buffaloes for their dismal second-half performance against the Stanford Cardinal. Coach Prime's son and the brain behind the Colorado social media hype said that Stanford gave the hosts a life lesson: one should never get too comfortable.
"Un f*cking believeable. Good game Stanford. Life lessons, you can't ever get too comfortable. But gone that and let us have it. We deserve that sh*t," Deion Sanders wrote on X and in an Instagram story.
The Buffaloes were favorites to win the clash, as the Cardinal hadn't won in their last four games. After the first half of the game, it did look like it would go according to the script that almost everyone had in mind. But it turned on its head as soon as the second half kicked off.
The game of two halves
It was a classic case of a game of two halves. Trailing 29-0 at the halfway point, the Cardinal launched a counterattack that surprised everyone.
The Stanford offense suddenly became a well-oiled machine and strung together drive after drive to put points on the board. The defense made some great stops, including a turnover on downs when Coach Sanders asked the Buffaloes to go for it on fourth down late in the game.
The Cardinal quarterback Ashton Daniels threw for a total of 396 passing yards and four touchdowns. But in the end, the second overtime pick thrown by Shedeur Sanders set up a game-winning drive for the Cardinal that resulted in a field goal. Stanford had done it and had beaten Deion Sanders.
After a bye week, the Buffaloes will look to bounce back against the UCLA Bruins.
