Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers made quite the entrance at his first SEC Media Days, rocking a cowboy hat, boots and a Longhorn belt buckle on Wednesday. As one of the favorites to win the Heisman Trophy this season, Ewers captured attention not just with his attire but with his words, hyping up the Texas A&M rivalry with a nod to his dad's perspective.

"My dad said that growing up, he believed that the A&M game was bigger than the Red River Rivalry game," Ewers said. "I am excited to have that game back. It's going to be a cool experience, especially going to Kyle Field... I know that place is going to be rocking. We are all fired up for it."

Texas Longhorns left tackle Kelvin Banks echoed the high expectations for Ewers, saying:

Before diving into the SEC season, the Longhorns face a formidable challenge against defending National Champion Michigan on September 7th. Ewers acknowledged the magnitude of the game and said:

“Going up to the Big House, it’s going to be an awesome environment. The place is gonna be rockin’. Just because all of the hype because it’s an early game. You know, they’re coming off a really big win, the national championship. Yeah, the ‘Team up North.’” [H/T Sporting News]

Quarterback Ewers is set to lead coach Steve Sarkisian's 2024 team into the SEC with high hopes for a conference championship.
