Deion Sanders discussed the importance of men being attentive to their health in an interview with "Good Morning America." As the leader of the Colorado Buffaloes, he opened up about his experience with blood clots in his legs and the treatment he received from UCHealth.

“I'm proud of my amputation,” Sanders said. “I'm not shy about what transpired. I'm back. I'm fighting back, baby.”

He reflected on his past struggles, having had two surgeries to remove blood clots from his thighs last year. He said that men's reluctance to seek medical attention is often due to them being hesitant to acknowledge pain:

“We don't like to go to the hospital, we don't like to get checked out. We're men. We don't supposed to cry,” Sanders said. “We don't supposed to hurt. We don't supposed to feel pain.”
“I cannot stress enough the importance of preventative care, like we need to start going and encouraging one another to go get checked out,” he added. “To go see what's going on, to make sure you're healthy because we want you around.”

Deion Sanders doesn't like Grandpa Prime nicknames

At the end of the GMA interview section, Deion Sanders was asked if he is going to be a 'Grandpa Prime.'

Sanders' eldest daughter, Deiondra, is expecting a baby boy with her partner, Jacquees Broadnax. However, Coach Prime said he does not feel ready for such a name:

“I don't like the papa prime and the grandpa. I don't like all that. I feel like I'm too young to be a grandfather.” [Timestamp - 3:58]

But he felt grateful that his daughter waited until she was old enough. He humorously mentioned that he's tired of seeing daily pictures of the baby-to-be.

“She's posting a picture every day. I'm like, 'Baby, I'm tired of that little baby.' I'm so tired of that darn little baby. Let the baby come,” Sanders humorously said. “She's taking pictures every day of every angle.”

Meanwhile, Prime Time looks forward to becoming a grandfather on his birthday in August.

“I can't wait. I'm excited. How about the baby's supposed to be born on my birthday in August?” he said.
