Quarterback Bryson Daily has been a big part of the No. 21-ranked Army Black Knights (7-0, 6-0 AAC) staying undefeated through their first seven games of the season. However, shortly before the start of their game against the Air Force Falcons (1-6, 0-4 MWC) on Saturday, it was announced that Bryson Daily would not be available.
The team announced that Daily would miss the game because of an undisclosed injury and illness. However, despite missing the game, there does not appear to be concern from the Black Knights about Daily's status for the rest of the season. He is not expected to be out long-term.

No, Bryson Daily is not playing in Army's matchup on Saturday against Air Force. Instead, backup quarterback Dewayne Coleman will get his first career start. Although Daily has had a big impact this season, it should still be favored against Air Force with its backup quarterback getting the start.
What happened to Bryson Daily?
Daily has been dealing with an undisclosed injury all week and has been unable to participate in practice. However, a decision on whether he would play was not made until shortly before kick-off.
It is not clear what caused Daily's injury. He did not appear to get injured in Army's last game, a 45-28 win over East Carolina two weeks ago. Regardless, the open week was not enough time for Daily to get healthy and he will miss Saturday's matchup against the Air Force Falcons.
Despite the concern about Daily's unknown status going forward, he is not expected to miss much time. SI reported that Army is confident that he will return to the field sometime in the near future.
How does Bryson Daily's absence affect Army's offense?
With Daily out of the lineup, Army will need to turn to Coleman, the backup quarterback. Coleman is inexperienced and not expected to have a similar impact as Daily.
The starting QB has helped Army rank No. 1 nationally in rushing production with 359.1 yards per game.
The team ranks seventh nationally in scoring offense with 40.4 points per game.
Although the quarterback position is known for throwing the ball, Daily is highly effective as a runner. He has 138 carries for 909 yards and 19 touchdowns this season. He is also effective as a passer, completing 27 of 47 passing attempts this season for 629 yards and seven touchdowns. He has not thrown an interception all year.
