What happened to Jacob Sexton? Exploring Oklahoma OL's medical tent visit against Ole Miss

Starting left tackle Jacob Sexton got banged up today against the Ole Miss Rebels and has gone to the medical tent due to injury. The junior offensive lineman from Edmond, Oklahoma, has been a staple on the offensive line for the Sooners this season. He has done a great job at protecting both Jackson Arnold or Michael Hawkins Jr's blind side.

However, things are not looking great as he is getting beaten up to the point that he has been helped off of the field multiple times in the first half of the game. Let's take a closer look at what exactly happened to Jacob Sexton.

What happened to Jacob Sexton?

Jacob Sexton appeared to have been battling through an injury as he suffered a left ankle issue early on during the second quarter of the game. The Oklahoma Sooners athletic trainers would tape his ankle and Sexton would return to the field for the next offensive drive.

However, just minutes after returning to the field, Sexton would re-injure his left ankle and would stay on the ground for a few minutes and pound the ground in pain and anger.

It appears that the second time he got injured, it was a right knee injury. Later, he was helped off the field and went to the medical tent. He would appear on the sideline with an ice bag on his right knee.

Jacob Sexton has officially been ruled out for the remainder of the Week 9 game against the Ole Miss Rebels and freshman Logan Howland has replaced him on the offensive line.

What does this mean for the Oklahoma Sooners?

Losing Sexton is going to make a tough day for the Sooners offensive line even more difficult. On the first play that Logan Howland was in, he allowed a sack, showcasing the ferocity that the Ole Miss Rebels are playing with today.

This is going to be a tough day for the Sooners offense as they have already lost one-fifth of the starting offensive line.
