No. 9-ranked Ole Miss wide receiver Tre Harris exited the second quarter of Saturday's game against the Florida Gators with an apparent injury. Harris suffered the injury while trying to make a jumping catch on a third-and-seven play. This was his first game after missing more than a month due to a groin injury.

What happened to Tre Harris?

Tre Harris was making his return for Ole Miss (8-2) against Florida (5-5) after returning from a groin injury that had kept him out for more than a month. He had last played on Oct. 12 when the Rebels lost 29-26 in overtime to LSU. It is not yet clear if this new injury has anything to do with his previous groin injury.

The injury occurred in the second quarter when Harris jumped to catch the ball on a third down play, where the Rebels needed seven yards. According to the ABC broadcast, he was seen grabbing his right hip or groin area after the injury. That area was already heavily wrapped before the game began as a precaution.

Although Harris was able to walk off of the field on his own, he was quickly escorted to the locker room. Before exiting the game, Harris had made a significant impact with a 43-yard touchdown catch.

How will Tre Harris' injury impact the Rebels' offense?

Despite already missing several games this season with a groin injury, Harris is still leading the SEC in several major receiving categories. His 43-yard catch pushed him past the 1000-yard mark this season, making him the first SEC receiver to reach that milestone. Additionally, it was his seventh TD of the season, which puts him second in the conference.

It is not yet clear what the severity of Harris' injury is or if he'll be able to return to the game. However, if he is not able to return, the Rebels had managed well while Harris was out with his previous injury. They went 3-0 in those games, including a 28-10 victory over No. 8-ranked Georgia on Nov. 9.

In Harris' absence, the Rebels will need to rely on the trio of Dae'Quan Wright, Cayden Lee and Jordan Watkins. The three receivers combined for 11 receptions and 147 yards in the first half against Florida.
