In one of the premier games of Week 3 college football season, the 16th-ranked LSU Tigers were able to go on the road and defeat the South Carolina Gamecocks in an exciting SEC matchup. The game was back-and-forth throughout the second half and the Gamecocks failed to connect on a game-tying 55-yard field goal as time expired.
People took to social media to discuss how they felt the officiating was giving LSU more favorable calls down the stretch.
"It looks like the refs were doing everything in their power for LSU in the last few minutes, what's up with that? Liars." Someone posted on social media
"The refs....in the last 4 mins. They needed LSU to win lol" One commenter posted.
Others were celebrating the LSU Tigers going on the road and securing the victory in their opening game of SEC play.
"After being down 17-0 it was a tough comeback! #GeauxTigers" Another person posted
"BIG EXHALE. Furthest thing from a feel good win but a win is a win. I'd rather win ugly then lose ugly. Good win on the road. Won the 2nd half. Won the 4th quarter. Now we get a tough task against UCLA. See yall next week, hopefully we look better next week." One Twitter user responded.
LSU Tigers' win will be a massive confidence booster for the team going forward
The LSU Tigers have showcased the ability to come back from behind and secure a road win in a tough matchup as they came back from being down 17-0 halfway through the second quarter of this game in a hostile environment.
It will be difficult to see the LSU Tigers drop in the AP Poll on Sunday and they will likely move up a few spots into the 13th through 15th spots, depending on how other teams ahead of them finish.
The LSU Tigers seem to have wiped away the Week 0 neutral site loss against the USC Trojans in Las Vegas. As of the later slate beginning, no ranked team has been upset this week but this should give the Tigers confidence as they get towards the tougher stretch of their schedule.
