With the 2024 NFL draft starting Thursday, there will be news that may affect the draft stock of players. That's the case with draft prospect Adonai Mitchell.
An anonymous scout told legendary sportswriter Bob McGinn that the Texas Longhorns wide receiver could be uncoachable due to his blood sugar and diabetic situation:
"You're going to have to assign somebody to be next to him for his first few years because his issues are all about his diabetes and his blood sugar. When his blood sugar's off, he's rude, he's abrasive, he doesn't pay attention in meetings. It's why you get really, really sh**ty character reports coming out of Georgia and Texas.
"Before you even get to the diabetic part, he's kind of going to do it his way. He's a little bit of a wild horse. You've got to see if you can harness him in. Then, once you do that, he doesn't address the diabetic stuff in a mature way. He's very much a boom-or-bust type guy."
Adonai Mitchell has the ability to be one of the best wide receivers in the draft class. He finished last season with 55 catches for 845 yards (15.4 yards per reception) and 11 touchdowns.
What round will Adonai Mitchell be selected in the 2024 NFL draft?
Wide receiver Adonai Mitchell is one of the better prospects in the 2024 NFL draft class. He seems to be sitting around the low-second to upper-third rounds, according to evaluators.
This draft class is full of talented receivers, and Mitchell has shown one year of dominant performances. There are some things to be excited about but also some concerns for teams to factor in.
