Braedyn Locke was pushed into the national spotlight this weekend. He is normally the backup quarterback for the Wisconsin Badgers. But starting QB Tyler van Dyke left the game on the opening drive against the Alabama Crimson Tide. This meant that Locke became the quarterback for the game against one of college football's biggest programs
This has, obviously, led to a rise in curiosity regarding the 20-year-old. An interesting fact about Braedyn is that he is not the only member of his family who is a quarterback. The Badgers quarterback has a younger brother, Landyn.
Who is Landyn Locke?
Landyn Locke is a quarterback who is following in his older brother's footsteps and has committed to play football for the Wisconsin Badgers from 2025.
Landyn Locke is currently in high school and plays for Rockwall High School, which is based in Rockwall, Texas. He has been ranked by 247sports.com as the 58th-best quarterback in the class, which makes him a three-style prospect.
In contrast, his brother Braedyn, who played at the same high school, was ranked as the 25th-best prospect in his class coming out of high school by the same publication.
However, any chance that Landyn will win any championship or show Badgers fans what he can do on the field has disappeared for now.
It has been reported by Landyn Locke that he has torn his ACL and that this is a season-ending injury. Luckily for him, he should be able to play snaps when he makes his way to Madison, Wisconsin, where he will join up with his brother at the Badgers.
How has Braedyn Locke fared at Wisconsin?
The appearance against Alabama is not the first time that Braedyn Locke has played for the Badgers. During the 2023 season, Locke made five appearances for the team.
In this period, he threw for 777 yards and scored five touchdowns. His best performance was against the Indiana Hoosiers, where he threw for 243 yards, scoring two touchdowns.
It is likely that with the injury to Tyler Van Dyke, Braedyn Locke will be making more appearances for the Wisconsin Badgers in the near future. If things go well, he may keep this job, and then pass it on to his younger brother in a few years time.
