On Friday, it was announced that comedian Shane Gillis would be the celebrity guest picker on the show for the clash pitting the Notre Dame Fighting Irish against the Indiana Hoosiers.
While Gillis has no connection to either Notre Dame or Indiana, he played football at Elon University and has become renowned for his funny comedy skits and the Netflix hit series "Tires."
"This is going to be fun Can't wait to have @Shanemgillis as today's guest picker! College GameDay begins at 3:30 PM ET on ESPN," GameDay tweeted.
College GameDay will have historic weekend
The College GameDay crew consisting of retired coach Nick Saban, Pat McAfee, Kirk Herbstreit and Desmond Howard alongside host Rece Davis will have a historic weekend traveling to two destinations during the first round of the college football playoff weekend.
The legendary Lee Corso will also return for the college weekend after missing a few weeks due to poor health. On Friday, the show will air in South Bend for Indiana versus Notre Dame starting at 3:30 p.m. EST on ESPN.
The next day, the crew will travel to Columbus for the clash pitting the Ohio State Buckeyes against the Tennessee Volunteers at the Horseshoe.
Notre Dame will host the show for the 12th time in its history. Friday's show will mark the 38th time (17-20 record) that it will make an appearance on the show.
It will be Indiana's fourth appearance on the show, with two coming during this season. The Hoosiers' appearances came during a win against the Washington Huskies and a loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes.
The crew will be joined by coaches, Georgia's Kirby Smart, Clemson's Dabo Swinney, Indiana's Curt Cignetti and Texas' Steve Sarkisian across the two shows.
The show's ratings have seen a rebound during an epic 2024 season due to their creative choices of guest pickers that have included actor Timothee Chalamet and even Nick Saban's wife, Terry, earlier in the season.
