College GameDay travels around the country for a different game every week, and there is a new celebrity guest picker each time. This week, College GameDay will cover one of the season's most anticipated games so far, Ohio State vs Oregon.
The No. 3 ranked Oregon Ducks (5-0, 2-0 Big Ten) will host No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes (5-0, 2-0) in a Week 7 matchup on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. Since the game will take place in Oregon, the College GameDay crew looked for someone with ties to Oregon to be the guest picker.
On the evening of Oct. 10, it was officially announced that Kaitlin Olson would be the celebrity guest picker this week. Olson is an Oregon graduate and popular comedic actress.
She was born in Portland, Oregon, and went to high school at Tigard High School. Afterward, she attended the University of Oregon, graduating with a bachelor's degree in theater arts in 1997.
Olson has had a prolific career as an actress but is most famous for her role as Deandra "Sweet Dee" Reynolds in "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia". She has been part of the main cast of the show since its inception in 2005. The show has been running for 16 seasons and is renewed to run for at least 18, making it one of the longest-running sitcoms of all time.
Additionally, although Olson is a big football fan, she has a connection to another kind of football. She is married to her "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" co-star Ryan McElhenny, who owns the Wrexham Football Club alongside Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds. The couple has been married for 14 years and have two sons together.
Who will Kaitlin Olson predict to win Ohio State vs Oregon on College GameDay?
When guest pickers come on College GameDay, they need to pick who they think will win the game. However, these pickers usually play to the crowd and do not always make a pick based solely on stats and data. So, it is very likely that Olson will predict that Oregon will defeat Ohio State on Saturday.
While it is expected to be a close game and Oregon could win, Ohio State is the favorite. The sportsbooks have Ohio State as a -165 favorite, and Oregon as a +140 underdog. Both teams are undefeated and coming off dominant wins. Oregon beat Michigan State 31-10 last Friday, and Ohio State had a 35-7 victory over Iowa last Saturday.
