Dia Bell has officially committed to the University of Texas. Bell is the son of former NBA player Raja Bell.
Bell was the ninth-ranked player in the class of 2026 and the second-ranked quarterback in the class of 2026, in ESPN's rankings. Bell is a 6-foot-3 quarterback who attends Florida's American Heritage High School.
The quarterback is the fourth-ranked quarterback and 21st-best prospect in the class of 2026 in 247Sports rankings.
In 2022, Bell went 13-for-21 for 317 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions in nine games. This past season, the quarterback went 122-for-189 for 1,929 yards, 20 touchdowns and four interceptions.
Bell, like his dad, also plays basketball in high school. This past season, he averaged 13.9 points and 5.1 rebounds in eight games.
In his 12-year NBA career, Raja Bell played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Dallas Mavericks, Utah Jazz, Phoenix Suns, Charlotte Bobcats and Golden State Warriors.
Bell played in 706 NBA games, averaging 9.9 points, 2.8 points and 1.7 rebounds.
Dia Bell is the firstborn child of Raja and Cindy Greenman. Dia was born just hours before Game 5 of the first round of the 2007 NBA playoffs, while Raja's Phoenix Suns' were playing the Los Angeles Lakers.
Dia has a sister, Tai Brooklyn, who was born on Nov. 8, 2008.
Dia Bell picks Texas over Ohio State
Dia Bell decided to commit to Texas over Ohio State, who showed heavy interest in him.
Bell took to social media to announce his commitment and shared that he wants to be part of the top 2026 recruiting class in the country.
"Thank u to everyone who offered me a chance 2 pursue my dreams at ur school. I am grateful for all of u and the relationships we built! These (photos) were from 2 years ago to the day. It was always the plan! @TexasFootball time to build the best 2026 class in the country!," Bell wrote on X.
Dia Bell had also received offers from Arizona, Arkansas, Auburn, BYU, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Nebraska, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee and Washington.
