The 2024 SEC Media Days began Monday in Dallas, Texas, and will continue through Thursday. On Tuesday, the Oklahoma Sooners will be participating in their first SEC media day since they joined the conference on July 1. OU's media day is scheduled for 1:50 p.m. Eastern Time.

Sooners coach Brent Venables and three of his players will be speaking to the media, and it will be heavily attended as many are interested to hear what the coach has to say about the challenges of playing in the Southeastern Conference. Venables has been the Sooners' head coach since 2022 and has led Oklahoma to a 16-10 record.

After the Sooners were finally introduced as SEC members, Venables said he was eager for the challenge.

"This year is, obviously, incredibly important," Venables said on "The Paul Finebaum Show" (via theScore). "We've worked really hard the last couple of years to prepare for this moment. But what's sitting in front of us right now is trying to put together the best roster that we can and have these guys as well prepared as we can...
"We're running towards the SEC with great expectations and excitement, and again, this will be a launching point for this program moving forward."

Oklahoma will open its 2024 season at home on Aug. 30 against Temple.

Danny Stutsman, meanwhile, is entering his fourth year at Oklahoma, and last season, the star linebacker recorded 104 tackles, three pass defenses, three sacks, two forced fumbles and one interception.

Billy Bowman is projected to start at strong safety for the Sooners in 2024. Bowman is entering his fourth year with the Sooners, and last season, he recorded 63 tackles, four pass defense and six interceptions.

Oklahoma has notable games against Tennessee, Auburn, Texas, Ole Miss, Missouri, Alabama and LSU.
