Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes have FOX Sports analyst and former NFL star Emmanuel Acho full of praise. Coach Prime’s team dominated their Big 12 rival, Texas Tech, with a commanding 41-27 win in Week 11 of the 2024 college football season.
Acho shared his excitement about Coach Prime’s impact, dropping a message aimed at Sanders’ doubters:
“Yo, it’s official. Colorado controls their own destiny.”
Acho pointed out that Colorado was projected to finish near the bottom of the Big 12 before the season began. But now, with only one conference loss, the Buffs are sitting second, trailing only BYU, and seem all set to secure a place in the Big 12 Championship game.
He said:
“So long as Colorado wins out and they have no remaining Top 25 teams on their schedule, they're in the Big 12 championship game against BYU, and if they beat BYU, then they are guaranteed a spot in the college football playoffs.”
“Imagine a world where Deion Sanders gets to look at all his haters and say - 'My second season in Colorado, I made it to the playoffs.' Who is laughing now?” Acho continued.
While the Buffs experienced setbacks early in the season, the 57-year-old HC has pushed them to their best season start in six years. Closing his post, Acho fired up the team and fans alike:
“Shoutout to the Buffs, but look Colorado - handle business. Don't even think about losing.”
Deion Sanders's Colorado fires on all cylinders
Coach Prime and his men delivered another statement win against Texas Tech in front of a hostile crowd at Jones AT&T Stadium. Once again, the Buffs’ star duo shined. Travis Hunter continued his two-way dominance with nine catches for 99 yards and a touchdown, while QB Shedeur Sanders threw for 291 yards, three touchdown passes and avoiding any interceptions.
Colorado's defense also played well, with seven sacks, an interception and two fumble recoveries.
With three regular-season games left, including next week’s showdown against Utah, the Buffaloes (7-2) now control their Big 12 destiny. Deion Sanders’ impact since his hiring is undeniable; the Buffaloes went from 1-11 two years ago to an 11-10 record under Coach Prime in two years.
