For the first time in College GameDay history, Lee Corso and the rest of the crew are in Indiana.
The College GameDay crew is covering the game between the No. 13 ranked Indiana Hoosiers (7-0) and Washington Huskies (4-3). Corso has a special connection to Indiana as he was the coach of the Hoosiers from 1973 until 1982. So, it should not be a surprise to hear whom he picked to win.
Who did Lee Corso pick in Week 9 ESPN's College GameDay?
Lee Corso did not make any surprising picks ahead of the game between Indiana and Washington. He said:
"It's obvious who I'm picking."
Corso then proceeded to pick Indiana to win the game. It was an emotional homecoming for Corso, who returned to Indiana for the game on October 26. That day has special significance as this day was named after him by the Bloomington Mayor.
After picking Indiana, Corso then made one of the most memorable headgear picks of all time by wearing a hat commemorating Indiana's Holiday Bowl win over BYU.
College football Week 9 top matchups
There are several exciting matchups this week, including the one between Indiana and Washington. However, there are also some great matchups between ranked teams.
- Number 21 ranked Missouri vs number 15 ranked Alabama
- Number eight ranked LSU vs number 14 ranked Texas A&M
- Number five ranked Texas vs number 25 ranked Vanderbilt
- Number 12 ranked Notre Dame vs number 24 ranked Navy
- Number 20 ranked Illinois vs number one ranked Oregon
All of those matchups have the potential to be exciting and close contests. Part of what makes them exciting is that they could all have implications on the 12-team college football playoffs and seeding.
Lee Corso's past picks
Lee Corso has done a great job of making his picks this season, accumulating a 5-1 record. He had a perfect 5-0 record heading into last week after missing the previous two weeks with health issues.
Unfortunately for Corso, his pick of Texas to defeat Georgia did not come true. The Bulldogs pulled off a 30-15 upset win over the Longhorns.
Throughout his career, Corso has compiled an impressive 280-140 record in his Saturday College GameDay picks. So, every time he gets a pick wrong, he typically gets two right. He is likely to have another pick right this week as Indiana is favored to defeat Washington.
