Kansas Jayhawks quarterback Jalon Daniels will be in Las Vegas for the Big 12 media days. Daniels will be one of four Kansas players in the event along with their coach Lance Leipold.
The event is a time media to talk to player and coaches for stories and to preview the upcoming season. Usually, most teams send their coach, their quarterback and another player or two.
To no surprise, Kansas is sending quarterback Jalon Daniels who many feel is poised for a big year. Daniels is entering his fifth year at Kansas as last year he dealt with injuries and went just 56-for-75 for 705 yards, five touchdowns and one interception.
Entering 2024, Leipold has confidence that Daniels will remain healthy and help lead the offense.
“He's gone through so much,” Leipold said, via Kansas.Rivals. “I do feel the tide's going to turn and for everything and how he represents our program through the good and really, I think he will be rewarded for that type of demeanor. And I'm looking forward to seeing number 6 out there leading the offense again.”
Daniels is +3500 to win the Heisman Trophy, according to DraftKings.
Who else is representing the Kansas Jayhawks at the Big 12 media days other than Jalon Daniels?
Along with quarterback Jalon Daniels, head coach Lance Leipold will be attendance, as well as running back Devin Neal, cornerback Mello Dotson and defensive end Jereme Robinson.
Leipold is entering his fourth year at Kansas after leading the school to a 9-4 record in 2023. Leipold will hold his press conference at 1:20 p.m. on Tuesday, which will stream live on Big 12 Now on ESPN+, according to Kansas' team website.
Devin Neal, meanwhile, is entering his fourth year at Kansas, as last season, he rushed for 1,280 yards and 16 TDs on 203 carries. Neal is projected to be a Day 2 pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
Mello Dotson is set for his fifth year at Kansas. Last season, he recorded 48 tackles, 11 pass defenses, one sack and four interceptions.
Finally, Jereme Robinson is also entering his fifth year at Kansas. Last year, he recorded 25 tackles, 4.5 sacks and six pass defenses.
