The Week 5 clash pitting the Georgia Bulldogs against the Alabama Crimson Tide is as big as the regular season gets. The game drew a viewership of 12 million which is the most of any regular season game since 2017.

The Tide won a thrilling game 41-34 on the back of a spectacular performance by quarterback Jalen Milroe, who accounted for three touchdowns, and freshman wide receiver Ryan Williams.

On an episode of "The Pat McAfee Show," WWE champion Cody Rhodes was in awe of the thrilling matchup and expressed his hope that the teams would meet again before the season was over.

"I was there for the 13 seconds or whatever that they were in the lead and I was explaining to my buddy like, 'This is SEC stress, this is what it's all about.' This game and the first game with an expanded playoff, I don't know, I think we're gonna see it again I would hope," Rhodes said.

Georgia's loss to Alabama represented the Bulldogs' first regular season loss since 2020, ending an incredible 42-game winning streak.

Alabama vs. Georgia was full of thrills and spills

Coach Kirby Smart has turned the Georgia Bulldogs into a juggernaut, and although they have one of the most difficult schedules in college football this season, they are still considered favorites for the national championship.

The Alabama Crimson Tide stunned them in Tuscaloosa, racing to a 28-0 lead and a 30-7 halftime lead that looked insurmountable. But the Dawgs roared back and took the lead with 2:31 remaining on the clock. However, the Tide struck again and hammered the final nail in Georgia's coffin.

Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer spoke about the wild game in his postgame news conference.

"When you face a really good football team, you know there's going to be a strong push," said Kalen DeBoer. "We pushed each other to the very end."

Kirby Smart has a 1-6 record against Alabama, with the Crimson Tide proving to be his lasting Achilles heel even after former coach Nick Saban retired.

During his postgame news conference, Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart was full of praise for the Tide.

"It was one hell of a game," Kirby Smart said. "Obviously, we were not really prepared, and that falls on me, in the first half. We didn't do a great job, especially defensively. We also gave them short fields. With a quarterback like Milroe, it creates a lot of tough times."

The Georgia vs. Alabama game attracted celebrities from all spheres with former President Donald Trump and stars like Kid Rock in attendance at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
