A tougher challenge for Quinn Ewers in 2024
The upcoming season will be a tough challenge for Quinn Ewers in college football. Texas will be transitioning to the Southeastern Conference, which is arguably the most competitive conference in the landscape, and this poses some challenges for the quarterback.
Ewers led the Longhorns to the Big 12 championship and helped secure a spot in the College Football Playoff last season. This pretty much showcased the level of success and growth the Longhorns have experienced under Steve Sarkisian. However, the SEC is at a different level.
While playing the top teams in the SEC will be a big challenge for Quinn Ewers, the quarterback possesses the ability to thrive in the new environment. He showed a glimpse of what he could do against SEC teams in the Week 2 matchup against Alabama in 2023.
Can Quinn Ewers lead Texas to the national championship?

Without a doubt, Texas is a candidate for the national championship in the 2024 college football season. The Longhorns appeared in a four-team College Football Playoff last season, where they lost out to Kalen DeBoer-led Washington in the Sugar Bowl.
The CFP will be expanded to 12 teams in the upcoming season, offering top teams like Texas an easier opportunity to gain entrance. Nonetheless, there will be an increased number of games to reach the championship game and claim the title.
Considering the level at which Texas played last season, the program can definitely challenge for the national title in the upcoming season, and Ewers will undoubtedly play a crucial role in this journey.
