The Georgia Bulldogs beat the Texas Longhorns 22-19 on Saturday to win the SEC Championship. Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin congratulated their rivals upon the title win while recapping their record since the end of the 2020 season. The Bulldogs have a 57-4 overall record since 2020, with just three losses to Alabama and one, coincidentally, to Kiffin's Ole Miss.

Fans weren't happy with the self-congratulatory way in which the Rebels' coach recognized Georgia's achievement.

"Good lord you cry so much."

Others found it funny.

"slick troll huh"

Some fans didn't think beating Texas was that big of an achievement.

"They almost just lost to a Big 12 team and needed 2 missed FGs to have a chance."

Despite their win over Georgia, fans think they won when it mattered.

"Lane Opine Kiffin. Y’all had your chance, and just couldn’t make it happen. #LastDance"
"Lane, just give it up. You’re not making the CFP at Ole Miss. had you stayed at Tennessee you would have ready made it. But Karma is knocking and she won’t allow you," one fan commented.
"Have to respect the Lane Kiffin propaganda machine," one fan said.

Georgia wins despite losing Carson Beck midway through SEC championship

Carson Beck suffered an upper-body injury while attempting to make a Hail Mary pass during the final play of the first half of the SEC championship game. Longhorns defensive end Trey Moore sacked Beck in a play in which the quarterback's throwing seems to have suffered. Following the game, Kirby Smart said:

"“Yeah, he’s got an upper extremity injury, we don’t know to what extent. Basically, we looked at it in there, and it looked okay. But he couldn’t have grip strength and throw the ball in the locker room. So it was a little bit painful for that. So we need to find out exactly what’s going on and have to MRI and look into it.”

Backup Gunner Stockton stepped up to lead Georgia to victory. He had only played in six games in his entire college career, almost all appearances being blowouts. When he entered the field, the Bulldogs' offense looked revitalized.

“This kid is a winner," Smart said. “This kid is special.”

He helped them score one touchdown and get to field goals, which were enough to get them into overtime. He also suffered a hard hit during overtime, which forced Carson Beck onto the field. Beck only had to hand out the ball to running back Trevor Etienne who scored the winning touchdown.
