Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders recently spilled the beans on the best game advice that his dad Deion Sanders gave him. After a disappointing 4-8 debut campaign last year, the Buffs are preparing for their Big 12 reunion season, with Shedeur returning as the starting QB.

On his new podcast "2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders," the Colorado QB had his brothers Shilo and Deion Sanders Jr. as guests. While discussing their offseason training and improvements, Shedeur talked about how Coach Prime advises him to critically analyze the game plan of the opponent's coaches on the gridiron.

According to Deion Sanders, if you can figure out your opponents' strategies and game plan, you can focus on building a countermeasure and take a step toward victory in that game.

"That's what dad says. Sometimes you seeing too much like, you played against all these different teams, very diverse in their coverages and all this stuff. So you gotta actually focus in on, 'ok what does this coach do. What is his specialty? What type of coach is he?' Like the DC you're going against," Shedeur said .
"From there on OK what are the variations and different things you could get to? Cause sometimes you'll be out there thinking, 'ok this DN may peel,' and the whole time he's not gonna peel like, that's not the scheme of that actual defensive coordinator. He never done that. So he's not just gonna, just when you play us, automatically just resort to it you know. So I feel like definitely trusting actually the game plan and like, really focusing on that and not really seeing too much." (12:58 onwards)

Despite going 4-8, Shedeur Sanders proved his worth as a quarterback. He got sacked 52 times because of a weak offensive line, but he managed to record 3,230 passing yards and 27 touchdown passes for Colorado. To provide him with better protection on the field, Coach Prime has brought in new talents this offseason and revamped the O-line for the upcoming season.

Shedeur Sanders reveals his role model QB

In another episode of his podcast with Miami's Cam Ward and Virginia Tech's Kyron Jones, Shedeur Sanders named his role-model quarterback who is also an active NFL player.

The Colorado QB named 2016 Heisman winner and current Baltimore QB Lamar Jackson as his role model and the person who inspires his game style on the gridiron.

"I seem him (Lamar Jackson) scrambling sidelines. I'm in the stands, North Texas game, the North Texas game out there. Everything he can, a lot of will, so they say you model your game after your coach, and he had a a lot of will," Shedeur said. (23:27)

With the new additions to the roster and coaching staff, it will be interesting to see what kind of campaign Shedeur Sanders and the Buffs can pull off in the Big 12.
