"You know her?" - Colorado star Travis Hunter takes a brave stance for fiancee amid criticism from popular comedian

Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter recently won the Lott IMPACT Award for the best defensive player in the nation. On Monday, he was also named one of the finalists for the prestigious Heisman Trophy alongside Oregon's Dillon Gabriel, Boise State's Ashton Jeanty and Miami's Cam Ward.

On Wednesday, Hunter was the subject of a video from standup comedian Godfrey who goes by 'Godfrey Comic' on Instagram. He posted a clip warning Hunter about his relationship with his fiancee, Leanna Lenee.

"This message goes out to Travis Hunter, listen, Travis, I just want you to be careful ," Godfrey said. "Yeah, I said it. Congratulations on your engagement but you might have to disengage because something about this woman man. The way she was talking to you, she was talking like she was really that chick.

"But when she found out your stats, bro, that's when she was like, 'Oh, I love him.' But one thing I do know is you need to watch your a**, bro. I'm so serious, man."

The Heisman-contending Hunter defended his fiancee with a scathing comment under the comedian's post.

"You know her? No, so don't speak on my relationship you old ash move on with your life," Hunter wrote.

Travis Hunter explains conflict with fiancee

After the Colorado Buffaloes beat the Oklahoma State Cowboys 52-0 on Nov. 29, Travis Hunter had a viral interaction with Leanna Lenee where she appeared to refuse to hug him and looked upset.

On Tuesday, during an appearance on "The Pivot" podcast, Hunter explained what happened in the viral moment.

“There’s a lot of stuff that could be happening in the stands, people don’t understand that,” Hunter said. “She might look irritated towards me, but at the same time, there’s a lot of stuff she deals with during the game. There’s a lot of stuff people don’t see off the camera.

“I just let people talk. Me, I’m a big troller so I just troll the internet. I really don’t care what they think or what they say about us so, I just go on there and troll. They talk about her, I post her to make them even more mad than they already are so they try to find something to hate, try to find something to break up on our relationship but ain’t nothing there, ain’t nothing you can find cause I love my woman.”

Travis Hunter and his fiancee have addressed any perceived cracks between them decisively.
