Travis Hunter has not only been able to become a strong football player (and potential Heisman Trophy winner), but he has also been able to develop a strong relationship with his fiancé Leanna. For any relationship to be strong, sometimes rules have to be put in place in order to uphold trust.
Hunter made an appearance on "The Pivot" podcast on Tuesday and spoke about a rule that he has in place to help his relationship: he only takes pictures with females when his girl is around.
Here is how fans on social media reacted to this rule.
This fan suggested that this is a rule that Leanna does not care about.
"You're girl dont care bro. She doesn't even like you 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣" said the fan.
While these fans see the rule as a what that Leanna has Travis tied down and restricted in what he can do.
“Only take pictures with women when she’s around” 😔 she’s got him by the balls." Said this fan.
"Already on a leash 😳 this is not going to end well." Said another fan.
"Bruh walking on eggshells for a woman who didn’t even like him at first smh." Said a third fan.
Finally, this fan thinks that there are bigger and more important things that the podcast could have spoken to Travis Hunter about.
"it isnt better things they can be talking to the heisman favorite about?" said the fan.
Travis Hunter on his Heisman Trophy chances
Travis Hunter did in fact discuss his chances of winning the Heisman Trophy on the podcast.
On Monday, he was announced as one of the four contenders for the award and is generally seen as the favorite to win. Hunter explained on the podcast why he thinks he should win the Heisman Trophy, saying: (Start at 20:22)
"I definitely believe I deserve to win it. What player you know can play receiver, get double teamed, still get a 1,000 yards, and the gameplan is about you on the offensive side of the ball, and then you go to the defensive side of the ball, and the gameplan is still about you, and I still ended up with four interceptions, 11 pass breakups and [31] tackles, which I shouldn't be tackling."
"You've never seen a player like me, as we was talking about earlier. I don't think there's ever going to be another player that go out there and plays 1,000 snaps a season."
Travis Hunter is definitely a unique player. He has been able to develop himself into a key asset on both sides of the ball. This means that he played almost all the snaps for the Colorado Buffaloes this season, something that is incredibly rare.
Hunter was a big reason why the Buffaloes saw a sudden and rapid improvement in form, and his strong performances every week of the season only provide evidence of why the Heisman Trophy may be on its way to Boulder in a few weeks' time.
