Michigan Wolverines star cornerback Will Johnson was expected to help them try to defend their national championship this season. However, an injury has derailed Johnson's season, and as a result, he has not played since Week 5. His last appearance was on Oct. 5 in a 27-17 loss to Washington.

Johnson suffered a turf toe injury in that game, and it has kept him out since. He was never ruled out for the season, and as a result, the coaching staff has been operating on a "wait and see" policy with Johnson. However, it appears that this injury may have cost Johnson his last college season and ended his career at Michigan (6-5).

Will Johnson was officially ruled out of Saturday's game against No. 2-ranked Ohio State (10-1). Since many fans perceived that he was available to play but couldn't, several reacted poorly on Twitter.

"This Will Johnson stuff is stupid as f**k lol. Dude you're sitting until the draft, we get it lol," one fan wrote.
"Reasons I’m confident.iMichigan DL vs OSU OL, Dominic Zvada, The fact that we’ve won 3 in a row and have a mental edge on them. Reason I’m not confident Will Johnson-less secondary, Colston Loveland status, What type of performance from OL & Don Edwards/Mullings will we get," another commented.
"Able to play in the game but isn’t…rough look," one fan added.

Other fans criticized Johnson for being scared of the Buckeyes.

"SCARED OF AN 18 YEAR OLD MICHIGAN 2020 is BACKKKKKK," a fan wrote.
"He's terrified and was getting burnt all year when he didn't know the opposing plays," another commented.
"He quit on his team," one fan added.

Will Johnson's career in Michigan could be over as he will enter the 2025 NFL draft

Unfortunately for the Wolverines, Johnson missing this game likely means his career in Michigan is over. He is set to enter the 2025 NFL draft and is projected to be a high pick. Many mock drafts have him in the top five. So, if he does not play against Ohio State, his career in Michigan is most likely over.

However, the Wolverines have qualified to participate in a bowl game. So if he is healthy, Johnson will be eligible to play in that game. However, he may sit it out to ensure he is fit before the draft.
