Deion Sanders assures the public that Travis Hunter has clinched the Heisman Trophy
With the end of the regular season, and with a few weeks to go for the conference championship games, all eyes have moved to the final stage of the Heisman Trophy campaign. Following their 52-0 shutout of the Oklahoma State Cowboys, Deion Sanders thought Travis Hunter was the assured winner. Here's what he had to say about it to the press:
“Travis clinched the Heisman today with his performance, he’s the best player in college football. You can find ways to hate, criticize and condemn him and you won’t come out of that looking professional. Travis Hunter proved today, and he’s proved every week, that he is the best player in college football.”
In Week 14, Hunter had 10 catches for 116 yards with three touchdowns. He also contributed one interception on defense. At the moment, he's the frontrunner to win the award, with Bet 365 giving him odds of +10000.
The Heisman Trophy voting has already started, with voters having until next Monday at 5 p.m. ET to make up their minds. On the same day, the finalists will be announced, and the final ceremony will take place on Dec. 14.
