Shannon Sharpe, widely regarded as one of the greatest tight ends of all time, offered blunt advice to Colorado's two-way star Travis Hunter's fiancée, Leanna Lenee, after a viral Heisman Trophy video stirred online criticism.
Lenee has been facing intense backlash following the ceremony on Saturday, where viral clips showed her appearing hesitant to stand and celebrate when Hunter’s name was announced. In the wake of online trolling, Lenee changed her Instagram account to private following controversies surrounding the Heisman backlash.

On Monday’s episode of "Night Cap," Sharpe addressed the situation, expressing his issue with what he described as “excess oversharing” in relationships.
"For you to talk about the reason you left him on read in your inbox is because he's younger than you and he cheated ... now you threw that man under the bus. We did not need to know that," Sharpe said.
"Why you put that man's business in the streets? Are you perfect? I don't like oversharing in a relationship,” he added. “It was unnecessary. You don't have to share everything, people — you don't!”
Sharpe followed up with direct advice for Lenee, offering insight based on his own experiences.
“I have a problem with her understanding," Sharpe added. "She's young, she doesn't understand what comes along with it, but I'm trying to enlighten her as somebody that's been in that space as somebody that understands it.”
He continued with a vivid analogy:
“Young lady, like Adidas, when these people come around, he's gonna have to sign footballs, he's gonna have to sign helmets, he's gonna have to sign jerseys, he's gonna have to take pictures.
“You're about to come into a situation, you're gonna, they have more money at your disposal than you even dreamed of. And why is that? That's a part of it. And for you to say, ‘How long do I have to stay here all day?’ You should graciously and willingly stay there a month, if that's what it requires.”
Hunter, meanwhile, responded to the backlash by strongly defending his fiancée during a Twitch livestream.
“You ain’t never had no girl, so why y’all talking ‘bout me?” Hunter told fans on Twitch. “Find something else to talk about. You’re talking about my girl? Go talk about your girl. Go find a girl. Go find a life.”
He doubled down on his support, saying:
“I know what I got. I know my girl. My girl been with me for five years. Y’all are just now starting to talk about me.”
On the flip side of the controversy, Travis Hunter made sure to publicly acknowledge Lenee during his Heisman acceptance speech, thanking her for unwavering support.
Travis Hunter’s fiancée, Leanna Lenee, addresses controversies in an emotional TikTok video
In the eight-minute clip, Leanna Lenee responded to the internet criticism surrounding her reaction to Travis Hunter’s Heisman announcement.
"When his name was called, I instantly was going to get up," Lenee said. "But if you watch the video, his mom didn't get up, so I thought, 'Oh, maybe I just sit here.' As soon as I saw Travis get up, I stood up to congratulate him."
"I got out of the camera shot on purpose because I knew how people online would twist the moment,” she added. “I wanted it to be about him and his family."
Despite her explanation, another video angle appears to show Colorado coach Deion Sanders nudging Lenee to stand up when Buffs star Travis Hunter was announced as the Heisman winner.
