Deion Sanders arrived as the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes last year. After his triumph in the SWAC Conference with Jackson State, fans in Boulder had high expectations for Coach Prime and his sons, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders.

However, despite the hype and a three-game winning streak to open the season, Deion Sanders could not help the Buffs maintain the momentum and finished his debut season with a 4-8 overall record. Now, before his debut Big 12 campaign, he also had to bid farewell to his former assistant coach Rendrick Taylor.

Taylor was selected for the NFL as part of the Green Bay Packers through the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship. Upon hearing the news, Sanders congratulated him on his promotion to the NFL through a video message and wished him the best of luck in his future endeavors.

"Congratulations RT. My brother. Man, I appreciate you. You've been a blessing to the strength and conditioning. You are all that the young men, especially the linemen are truly gonna miss you. But I'm excited and elated that you got promoted to the next level which is the NFL. This is our second strength and conditioning that went to the NFL. This is our third coach in three seasons that had been elevated to the NFL. And I appreciate that man. I'm so thankful for you," Sanders said.

After last season's 4-8 campaign, Deion Sanders used the offseason to revamp his coaching staff. He brought in NFL-experienced coaches such as Robert Livingston and Warren Sapp, among others, to help his players get ready for Colorado's Big 12 reunion campaign.

Deion Sanders bolsters his coaching staff by hiring Nick Saban's former special assistant George Helow

The 2024 season is just two weeks away but Coach Prime is still bolstering his coaching staff with more experienced coaches. As per reports, he has also successfully reeled in George Helow to the program, according to Bruce Feldman of The Athletic.

Helow is reportedly taking over as Colorado's senior defensive coach and will be helping Defensive coordinator Robert Livingston this upcoming season. He spent two seasons as a linebackers coach in Michigan under Jim Harbaugh before joining Nick Saban's Alabama as a special assistant last season.

Apart from his coaching staff, Sanders has also revamped Colorado's roster. With new talents and the return of his QB son Shedeur Sanders as a starter, the Buffs will look to redeem themselves after last season's disappointment and hopefully qualify for the bowl games this year.
