Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders is looking to revamp his game to bounce back in the 2024-25 college football season. After a tough 2023 season where he was sacked 52 times, Sanders is busy refining his footwork and timing this offseason.
In a recent episode of Overtime's "2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders" podcast, Shedeur shared his priorities with brothers Shilo Sanders and Deion Sanders Jr. He revealed that he is focused on nailing his footwork and understanding the game both before and after the snap:
"I would definitely say, one, really just working on footwork and everything, and rhythm, knowing the pre-snap, knowing actually post-snap reality of what's going to happen," Sanders said. "Just throughout the play, just go through progressions, and work on footwork, really."

Reflecting on his last season's performance, Sanders acknowledged the impact of being sacked so many times, constantly dodging 275-pound, 300-pound defenders:
"When you get sacked so many times over and over and over and over... bro you're footwork gonna be different than someone that hasn't got sacked that many times," Sanders said.
"People can say, 'Oh, his footwork was off, he wasn't throwing a rhythm.' They're not sitting there when that 275-pound, 300-pound tackle is running after you," he added.
Despite the team's 4-8 record, the QB put up solid stats with 3,230 passing yards, 27 touchdowns, and three interceptions for a QBR of 63.1.
Comparisons have been made between Shedeur Sanders and other quarterbacks like Texas Longhorns's Quinn Ewers and Alabama's Jalen Milroe.
With just three weeks to go before their opener against North Dakota State on Aug. 29, Shedeur and his team are gearing up to kick off the season strong.
Paul Finebaum slams Shedeur Sanders
Paul Finebaum did not hold back on his thoughts about Colorado Buffaloes' star quarterback Shedeur Sanders. Recently, on Sanders' podcast, he claimed that his team should be ranked No. 2. The ESPN commentator, however, wasn't impressed:
"I'm sick of Shedeur Sanders," Finebaum said [H/t Athlon Sports]. "He has said two of the dumbest things I have ever heard. The first one was, 'We're everybody's Super Bowl.' I mean, Shedeur, you are on a four-win team. You may be a great player, but your team is horrible."
According to Finebaum, while Colorado might improve this year, they're still not a major contender just yet.
As fans look ahead to the 2024-25 season, the Georgia Bulldogs, who have clinched two of the last three national championships, are the favorites.
Meanwhile, the Oregon Ducks, Ohio State Buckeyes and Texas Longhorns are also in the mix as top contenders.
