Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders had a special guest on his podcast this week. On the "2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders" podcast, soccer legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic joined for an interview with the Colorado quarterback.
Shedeur and Zlatan were joined by the quarterback's eldest brother Deion Sanderes Jr. During the interview, Sanders Jr. questioned the soccer legend about his perspective on which sport he would succeed in if he did not play soccer.
The former AC Milan striker had a rather interesting answer:
"I think everything with a ball, I would be successful," Zlatan said. "100 percent. Then American football is a different game. But I think basketball, I would easily be one of the top, if not the one."
"I am being honest. Everything with the ball I would do. Beccause I am an athlete. And when you're an athlete, youre able to do many things. That's not me being arrogant. That's me being confident now. People would say he's arrogant and that. No, no I'm pretty confident in whatever I would go in, I would do more than good."
Zlatan Ibrahimovic made quite a name for himself in soccer since beginning his senior career in 1999. He was known for his athleticism and acrobatic strikes and played for well-known teams like Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, Manchester United, AC Milan, and others. He also had a stint with MLS team LA Galaxy in 2018-19. Last year in June, Ibrahimovic announced his retirement from the sport.
NFL insider drops bold verdict on Jerry Jones' Cowboys drafting Shedeur Sanders
Deion Sanders' QB son has had a commendable campaign this season, helping Colorado to a bowl-game qualification and a potential shot at the new 12-team playoffs. This is Shedeur Sanders' final collegiate campaign, as he will be declaring for the NFL draft next year.
On Tuesday's "Get Up" show, NFL insider Dan Graziano had an honest take on Stephen A. Smith's idea of the Cowboys drafting the Colorado QB. Graziano explained that it would be a smart move for the team financially since they already gave QB Dak Prescott a four-year $240 million contract before the start of the season.
He said (2:25 onwards):
"They signed Dak Prescott to a massive contract extension. Historic. So if you bring in Shedeur Sanders, you are going to have to do something with Dak Prescott."
"Trading Dak Prescott would cost the Cowboys more than $100 million in dead money on next year's cap. If you thought Jerry Jones was poor about the cap this year, wait till he has a 103 million dead sitting for Dak Prescott."
Before beginning his professional journey in the NFL, Shedeur Sanders' first objective will be to help the Buffs emerge successful this season and potentially win the Big 12 title. It will be interesting to see if they can exceed all expectations and be a contender for the national championship.
