In his true freshman year with the Cavaliers, Jackson saw action in 14 games along the defensive line in 2019. The two-sport athlete from Atlanta continued to play at Virginia for the next three seasons. He finished his UVA career with 354 total tackles and 10.5 sacks in 46 games leading the conference in each of his last two seasons. After the end of the 2022 regular season, Jackson entered the transfer portal to join Iowa Hawkeyes in 2023 for his final year of college football. Last season, Jackson logged in 110 total tackles and two pass breakups. Jackson was awarded one extra year of eligibility as his 2022 season came to a halt after three Cavaliers players succumbed to a shooting.
