Northwestern vs Michigan: Preview

Northwestern is a 10-point underdog on the road against Michigan. The over/under is set at 36.5 points.
The Wildcats suffered a lopsided loss to Ohio State. Northwestern needs to win its last two games to be bowl-eligible.
“There were some things in the first half that gave us an opportunity to be in the game — be in a position that we wanted to be,” coach David Braun said, via DailyNorthwestern. “But then (there were) some things that unraveled there in the second quarter.”
Northwestern is led by Jack Lausch, who has passed for 1,321 yards, five touchdowns, and four interceptions. Cam Porter has ran for 424 yards and six touchdowns, while Bryce Kirtz has 506 yards. Defensively, the Wildcats are led by Theran Johnson has two interceptions, Aidan Hubbard has four sacks, and Mac Uihlein has 64 tackles.
Michigan, meanwhile, is coming off its bye week as the Wolverines are on a two-game losing streak. Michigan needs to beat Northwestern to become bowl-eligible as the Wolverines end their season against Ohio State.
"Yeah, it was buy-in week," coach Sherrone Moore said, via Detroit Free Press. "Really took it upon us to make sure we're really bought in the next two games to do everything we can to get better; really work on the fundamentals, the little things and make sure we're all in. Every piece, no stone unturned. Every 'T' crossed, every 'I' dotted.
"Had some of our best spirited practices. Came back, gave them a couple days off, and they came back yesterday with fire, with energy. So it was really good to see the kids in a positive mindset."
Michigan's rushing attack is led by Kalel Mullings who has run for 740 yards and eight touchdowns, while Donovan Edwards has rushed for 513 yards and three touchdowns. Colston Loveland leads the team with 560 yards and four touchdowns. On defense, Zeke Berry has two interceptions, Josaiah Stewart has 6.5 sacks, and Ernest Hausmann has 70 tackles.
The Wolverines defense will be too much for Northwestern's lackluster offense. Michigan should be able to get a much-needed win at home to be bowl-eligible before its rivalry game against Ohio State next weekend.
Prediction: Michigan 24, Northwestern 10.
