The transfer portal period is the most chaotic stretch of college football. For the Oregon Ducks, coach Dan Lanning must maintain his day-to-day tasks as his team prepares to take on Ohio State in the Rose Bowl. This is while he is actively recruiting players in the portal.
It's a good time to be in Eugene, as the Ducks finished the regular season with an undefeated 13-0 record, capped off by a Big Ten Conference Championship victory over Penn State.
All the winning Oregon has done would make it a difficult situation to leave. Unsurprisingly, only three Ducks have entered their names into the transfer portal so far. Here are the three players set to leave Eugene for new teams this offseason
Top 3 players who've left Oregon for new teams
#1 JacQwan McRoy, OT
JacQwan McRoy entered the portal on Dec. 4 after seeing limited action in his freshman season. McRoy was graded as the No. 130 player in the portal and the No. 12 offensive tackle, giving him a three-star portal ranking.
On Dec. 12, McRoy announced his commitment to Arkansas. He took an official visit to Arkansas during his recruitment in high school.
As a recruit, McRoy was a Top 100 player in the nation and the No. 9 offensive tackle in his class. He was a four-star recruit in the 2024 recruiting class.
#2 Emar'rion Winston, EDGE
Emar'rion Winston entered his name into the transfer portal on Dec. 14 after playing a limited role in his three seasons at Oregon. Winston is graded as the No. 212 player in the transfer portal and the No. 24 edge rusher.
Winston notched just eight tackles in a small sample size this season. As of Dec. 26, Winston has not committed to a new school since entering the portal.
Winston received a four-star ranking, as the No. 28 EDGE and the No. 4 player in Oregon in the 2022 recruiting class.
#3 Tyler Turner, DB
Tyler Turner entered his name into the transfer portal on Dec. 11. Like his former teammates, Turner was used sparingly in his redshirt freshman campaign, totaling just seven tackles this season.
As a transfer, Turner was graded as a three-star portal recruit, ranked as the No. 400 player in the portal and the No. 34 safety. Turner returned to his home state of Texas, announcing his commitment to Baylor on Dec. 23.
As a recruit, Turner was graded as the No. 70 safety in the country and the No. 124 player in Texas in the 2023 recruiting class.
