The Oregon Ducks keep on winning this season and are catching the attention of players around the country. With players joining new teams during the transfer portal period, Eugene is a hot spot for transfer recruits.
As the Ducks prepare to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Rose Bowl on Wednesday, Dan Lanning remains active in the transfer portal. Oregon has already landed six players in the portal, with more to come this offseason. Here are the top-five ranked transfers set to join the Ducks in 2025.
Top Five Players to transfer to Oregon so far
1. Isaiah World, OT
The Ducks landed the four-star transfer tackle on Dec. 18, who was ranked as the No. 20 player in the portal and the No. 1 offensive tackle. World is transferring from Nevada, where he was a two-time All-Mountain West honorable mention, starting all 13 games for the Wolfpack in 2024.
Entering his redshirt senior season, World will provide plenty of experience and veteran leadership for Lanning's offensive line next season.
2. Bear Alexander, DL
After drawing attention from nearly every school in the country, Alexander announced his commitment to Oregon on Dec. 20, his third school in his collegiate career. After a quiet season with USC in 2024, Alexander entered his name into the transfer portal on Dec. 9.
Alexander hasn't lived up to his four-star billing as a member of the 2022 recruiting class but oozes potential from the interior of the defensive line. The Ducks will give Alexander a fresh start to hone his untapped skills in 2025. Alexander was ranked as the No. 33 player in the portal and the No. 4 defensive lineman.
3. Dillon Thieneman, DB
With the Ducks set to lose at least nine defensive backs from its secondary, Oregon made the safety spot a position of need in the transfer portal. On Dec. 14, the Ducks got their guy in Thieneman, who was the top-ranked safety in the transfer portal.
Thieneman was one of the best safeties in the country this season, notching 104 tackles, five for loss, and a sack. As a true freshman, Thieneman recorded 106 tackles and six interceptions. His versatility and impressive ball skills made him highly sought after in the portal before the Ducks landed him.
4. Alex Harkey, OT
On the same day it landed World, Oregon continued to bolster its offensive line with the addition of Harkey. Harkey was ranked as the No. 62 player in the portal and the No. 7 tackle.
Harkey will have one year of eligibility remaining as he suits up for his third FBS school, previously playing for Texas State and Colorado.
5. Jamari Johnson, TE
The Ducks will lose star tight end Terrance Ferguson after this season, making the tight end a massive need for Oregon this offseason. Lanning filled the position of need with the former Louisville tight end. Johnson is ranked as the No. 88 player in the portal and the No. 5 tight end.
Johnson appeared in 12 games in his redshirt freshman campaign, catching 13 passes for 158 yards. In Lanning's offense, Johnson could develop into one of the top tight ends in the country.
