Dan Lanning will enter his third year as Oregon's coach in the 2024 season and has racked up an impressive 22-5 record thus far. While Lanning's team has been tipped to make a deep run in the postseason, Oregon needs a reliable quarterback who can propel the Ducks to glory in 2024.

As things stand, Dillon Gabriel is expected to get the nod as the starting quarterback for the Oregon Ducks in 2024. The signal-caller is expected to represent the Ducks at the team's Big Ten media day on Thursday, along with coach Dan Lanning.
Gabriel will enter his sixth year of college football in 2024. He began his career with UCF in 2019 and had a three-year sojourn with the Knights before transferring to Oklahoma, where he played for two seasons.
After the 2023 season, Gabriel transferred to Oregon. The left-handed slinger has recorded 14,865 passing yards and 125 touchdowns throughout his college career. He also has 26 rushing touchdowns across 50 games.
Gabriel has proved himself as a reliable option during his collegiate career. He is more than capable of leading the Ducks to the playoffs. Furthermore, this could be Gabriel's final year at the collegiate level before he declares for the NFL draft. The signal-caller will want to boost his draft stock before potentially going pro.
Last season, Bo Nix was the starting quarterback for Oregon. However, he was selected by the Denver Broncos as the No. 12 pick in this year's NFL draft. Apart from Gabriel, Lanning also has the likes of Dante Moore, Austin Novosad, and Luke Moga as options in his quarterback department at Oregon this year.
Moore is likely to serve as Gabriel's backup in the upcoming season. Austin is tipped as the third choice, while Moga could function as the fourth-choice quarterback for the Ducks. Oregon will begin its 2024 college football season by hosting Idaho on August 31.
