Oronde Benjamin Gadsden II is a collegiate football tight end, playing for the Syracuse Orange in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision. His football journey began at American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida, where he showcased his talents as a wide receiver. His performance in high school earned him a three-star rating from 247Sports and led to his commitment to Syracuse University over other notable offers from schools like Arizona State, Iowa State, Minnesota, Penn State, Baylor, Rutgers and Kentucky. Captaining his senior high school year, Oronde recorded impressive statistics, with 37 receptions for 608 yards and 13 touchdowns. In addition to football, Gadsden also participated in track and field during high school. Off the field, he is pursuing a degree in economics at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.

Gadsden is committed to Syracuse University, as he joined the Syracuse Orange in 2021 as a true freshman. During his inaugural season, he participated in eight games, recording two receptions for a total of 24 yards. In the 2022 season, Gadsden was reclassified as a hybrid player, functioning both as a tight end and a slot receiver. The 2022 season was a breakthrough season for Gadsden’s career, he amassed 61 receptions for 969 yards and six touchdowns. His performance earned him First Team All-ACC honors, making him the first Syracuse tight end to achieve such a feat. Notably, he recorded the highest single-season total for receptions by a sophomore at Syracuse. Gadsden's contributions were recognized at the end of the season when he received the Bill Maxwell Award. In the 2023 season, Gadsden won many accolades, was named to several preseason watch lists, including the Biletnikoff Award and the Maxwell Award, and was recognized as a preseason All-ACC selection. This season as a redshirt junior, Gadsen made 69 receptions for 860 yards along with five touchdowns and was named a Third-Team Associated Press All-American.
