Thorne received numerous accolades in high school, including being named the 2018 USA Today Illinois Offensive Player of the Year, the Chicago Sun-Times, Naperville Sun, and DuPage Valley Conference Player of the Year. He was also a first-team all-IHSFCA Class 8A selection and earned three-time academic all-state honors.
