Peach Bowl opt-outs and injury report: Top Texas & Arizona State players not playing

The Texas Longhorns will play the Arizona State Sun Devils in the Peach Bowl on Wednesday at 1 p.m. ET. The game is the quarterfinals of the college football playoff.

Texas finished the year going 12-2 and beat Clemson in the first round of the college football playoff. Arizona State won the Big 12 after going 11-2.

Arizona State star receiver Jordyn Tyson is out for the remainder of the season with an injury. Tyson recorded 75 yards for 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns this season.

Raleek Brown, RB

Depth running back Raleek Brown is also out with a hamstring injury. Brown rushed for 42 yards on nine carries this season.

Jake Smith, WR

Jake Smith is considered questionable for the Peach Bowl. Smith recorded 91 receiving yards on six receptions this season.

Malik McClain, WR

Malik McClain is also considered questionable for the Peach Bowl with an undisclosed injury. McClain had one reception for 43 yards this season.

Zechariah Sample, WR

Freshman receiver Zechariah Sample is out due to an undisclosed injury. He didn't record any stats in 2024.

Jayden Fortier, TE

Jayden Fortier is out with an undisclosed injury. Fortier didn't record any stats as a freshman this season.
