Penn State Nittany Lions' starting quarterback against Oregon Ducks in 2024 Big Ten Championship Game

Drew Allar will continue his duties under center for Penn State in the 2024 Big Ten Championship Game. He has been the program's QB1 throughout the season, tallying 2,668 yards and 18 passing touchdowns in 12 games.

Last week, during their final regular season victory over Maryland, Allar completed 17-of-26 passes he attempted for 171 yards and one passing touchdown. Coming out of Medina High School, Allar committed to the Nittany Lions as a part of the 2022 recruiting class.

He served as the backup to Sean Clifford in his freshman campaign and recorded 344 yards and four passing touchdowns. After Clifford's departure in the 2023 NFL draft, Allar was named as the team's starting QB. Last season, he helped Penn State record a 10-3 campaign along with a Peach Bowl loss to the Ole Miss Rebels.

Drew Allar is excited to take on the Oregon Ducks at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis this weekend. He has even watched a few Big Ten Championship Games with his father at this stadium. So playing in one is an exciting opportunity for the quarterback.

"I probably saw the last one when I was in grade school," Allar said via AOL.com. "That was kind of cool. Obviously this will be my first time on the field....I've heard nothing but great things about Lucal Oil in general. The one thing that's a little different from outdoor stadiums is the lighting. That doesn't affect me. Our receivers are probably going to get used to it in pregame."

Penn State's quarterback depth chart for 2024 Big Ten Championship game vs. Oregon

Apart from Drew Allar, Penn State also has redshirt sophomore Beau Pribula and redshirt freshman Jack Lambert as options in the QB depth chart. Pribula joined the Nittany Lions in 2022 and redshirted his true freshman season. Last year, he served as the backup to Drew Allar on the depth chart.

Pribula has seen limited time on the field this season. He has recorded a total of 275 yards and five touchdowns passing along with four rushing touchdowns for 230 yards. Apart from him, redshirt freshman Jack Lambert is also an option for the Nittany Lions. He has yet to make an appearance for the team this season.

The Big Ten title game is scheduled to be played on Saturday with kick-off at 8:00 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on television on the CBS channel.
