The No. 10 Penn State Nittany Lions welcomed the Kent State Golden Flashes for their Week 4 game on Saturday. The clash at Beaver Stadium got underway at 3:30 p.m. ET after the Nittany Lions won the toss and chose to defer.
Star quarterback Drew Allar led the offense for Penn State, while Devin Kargman started as Kent State's signal-caller but was replaced by JD Sherrod in the first quarter. Kargman was carted off the field after being tackled by Penn State's defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton.

Penn State opened the scoring when Allar zipped a 16-yard touchdown pass to tight end Tyler Warren with 2:38 to go in the first quarter. The scoring move was a nine-play, 89-yard drive which lasted 4 minutes and 41 seconds. Sander Sahaydak converted the extra point and the Lions took a 7-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Penn State extended its advantage in the second quarter when tight end Warren had the ball and threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Nick Singleton. The hosts went to put more daylight between themselves and Kent State when Liam Clifford caught a 14-yard pass from Allar.
With just 15 seconds remaining in the second quarter, Allar ran for a 5-yard touchdown to ensure the Lions led 28-0 at halftime.
The Lions opened the scoring in the third quarter when Allar combined with Omari Evans for a 59-yard touchdown. With the game virtually won, Penn State replaced Allar with Beau Pribula, who threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Khalil Dinkins for the hosts to extend their lead to 42-0 after the third quarter.
The fourth quarter opened with Cam Wallace rushing for a 1-yard touchdown. Antoine Belgrave-Shorter then pounced on a Kent State mistake to score a 39-yard fumble return touchdown.
Pribula then rushed for a 1-yard score and Ryan Barker converted the extra point to round off a dominant 56-0 win for Penn State.
