The Penn State Nittany Lions go on the road to play the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will be shown on NBC.

Penn State (6–0, 3–0 Big Ten) is coming off its open week; it beat USC on the road before that. Wisconsin (5–2, 3–1 Big Ten) is coming off a 23–3 win over Northwestern.

Penn State vs Wisconsin: Preview

Penn State is a 6.5-point road favorite while the over/under is set at 48 points.

The Nittany Lions look like a real contender to make the playoffs. However, Penn State has its hands full going on the road to play Wisconsin at night.

“Wisconsin, a lot of history with this program. A ton of respect for their head coach, obviously he’s a Big Ten guy, for most of his career, as a player and as a coach. He’s done a nice job wherever he has been,” coach James Franklin said, via SI.
"I think the last three weeks they’ve played their best football. They’re really coming on right now, just watching them on tape how clean they’re playing, how hard they’re playing. It’s impressive to watch.”

Penn State is led by star quarterback Drew Allar who's thrown for 1,492 yards, 11 touchdowns and four interceptions. Nicholas Singleton has rushed for 434 yards and three touchdowns.

The Nittany Lions' defense is led by Abdul Carter with four sacks and Jaylen Reed with 39 tackles.

Wisconsin, meanwhile, has turned its season around after three straight blowout wins. Quarterback Brayden Locke has played well in replacement of transfer quarterback Tyler van Dyke who was injured.

Locke has thrown for 1,064 yards, seven touchdowns and five interceptions. The team is also led by running back Tawee Walker who has rushed for 565 yards and nine touchdowns.

Stopping Penn State's defense will be tough for Wisconsin, but Badgers defensive coordinator Mike Tressel believes he has a good game plan ready.

“There’s no doubt part of their plan is to give enough exotic, crazy looks to get guys’ heads spinning, to get them thinking rather than playing fast,” Tressel said, via SI. “And our strength the last couple weeks has been how fast we’ve played and how little we’ve thought."

This will be a big game to see if Penn State is a legit contender and can challenge the likes of Oregon and Ohio State for the Big Ten championship.

Wisconsin has turned a corner and should be able to keep this game close, but in the end, Penn State will leave Camp Randall with the win.
